Secretly

Secretly

Secretly we kissed in rainbow mist
Our love was mountain strong
Secretly we missed and made a wish
As the birds flew over and sung

Touching with water
My own rainbow

Beauty sleeping
I am weeping
It’s a nightmare world

Sing it loud
Sing it long
It’s our song

Mountain strong

Rivers

We are rivers leading out to sea

Men of the coal mine
Dirty
Sexy
Brave

I love a hero
But no-one comes
I look at my photo
And remember my wounds

I open my eyes, still the same size

To find love

I know I should be dressing-up
Doing my hair and my make-up
I know I should be eating right
I think I have forgotten how to put up a fight

A Dear Job

You wake up in the morning with nothing to love
You go on the computer and direct gov
You go to the library and give your CV to the pub
16 hours would be enough
Or maybe in retail, a shop of rosebuds
It’s really hard to keep the hope
There’s 100 people tugging on the other side of the rope

It doesn’t matter how much TV
Or how many people you see
Unemployed is not enjoyed
I would rather be a busy bee
Words,music,everything arty

Where do you go?

Counting raindrops
Counting forget-me-nots

Counting tablets and pamphlets
Counting how many times you
Have not travelled the planet

I’ve been looking for velvets and satin
Dreaming that romance will happen

Let’s

Let’s hold hands and search for rocks
Let’s look at the sea and watch the yachts

Let’s draw our names in the sand
Hide in a beach hut
Get freckles in the sun and go barefoot

Let’s hold hands on the park
Run on the grass and share our hearts
Let’s go on the swings and
Catch each other on the bottom of the slide
Let’s fly like we have wings
And go on a train ride

Let’s hold hands under the table at school
Let’s have kisses in the gym changing room
Let’s get caught talking and laughing in class
You are my first love and my last

Personify’s Love

My mum personify’s love
Every meal she makes is perfect grub
Every pot she washes is in fairy liquid suds
Every time she cleans and the hovers the house,
It look’s so good!!!

I really should help my mum
Tidy my room and hover the crumbs
I really should give her flowers
For sitting with me and making towers
For every homemade birthday cake
For being my best mate

I truly thank you mum
When I am sick you make me feel
Better like magic
When I am cold and tired
You turn on the fire
You personify love
Like the water and sunshine above

Mysterious inland lake
There is flooding everywhere,
Which road should we take?

A Prayer

A prayer for January

Let’s worship the strawberry
December was spent eating too much chocolate
And being too lazy
I have joined the gym,but
I don’t like putting leftovers in the bin!
If I exercise and improve my time
Can I have a bottle of wine?
Is your new years resolution to try something new?
How about a ‘different’ cake or look forward to
Easter with mini eggs!

A prayer for February

On no,I haven’t got a date,it’s Valentines day in three weeks
And I’m foolishly waiting for fate
Maybe a dove will deliver a message or
A wax sealed letter will come through the door and
Invite me to explore?!

A prayer for March

The golden eggs from Willy Wonka
Haribo sweets and hot cross buns.
I really should have signed up for that race and get a sponsor, raise some funds
But I do love spring flowers, daffodils and blossoms
Time for spring cleaning and fragrance
To keep you dreaming

A prayer for April

And not too many showers.
A beautiful cut of tender lamb,we
Need a holiday let’s make a plan
A trip to the park on our bikes,
Fishing in the streams and flying our kites.
A ride on the train, ice cream and flakes

A prayer for May

Family holidays ‘in the lovely rays’.
A clotted cream and jam cream tea.
Going further and further into the sea.
Playing with a beach ball, jumping waves
And a front crawl

A prayer for June

A summer nightclub and that good all dance tune
Parties at Stone Henge under the moon,
On a beach at sunset sat on sand dunes.
Ice pops on the way home from school
Tying our shirts around our waists, looking cool
A prayer for July

Getting the hosepipe out in hot piping weather
Running around laughing and chuckling together
Dipping out toes in a paddling pool
Eating lollies and ice cubes

A prayer for August

A time for Festivals,
Famous musicians and new arrivals
That perfect song,that perfect time
Pitching up tents and a lager and lime
Dreaming of a campervan,
Hippy clothes and making love,
Travelling hearts and doing good

A prayer for September

Let’s light the ember
The leaves are brown
And the conkers are falling to the ground
The fire is burning and the children are learning
Starting school for the first time,
Or walking to school alone for the first time,
It’s a brave time
There’s a que for the water fountain
There’s a que for school dinners
My message is ‘you are all winners’

A prayer for October

For those who trick or treat,
Dress up and have fun,get high on sweets
The toy adverts have begun,
It ain’t Christmas yet
But we love a Christmas song
Write your letters to Santa Claus,
Be good girls and boys and do your chores,
There are people in poverty and wars,
Send them a shoe box of gifts and who knows

A prayer for November

Bonfire night.May it not be too muddy on Worden Park
May the fireworks and fairground rides light up the dark
Treacle toffee and hot dogs,a super display and
Now we have fog. Sparklers?I look for the eyes

A prayer for December

The seasonal isle in the supermarket
The season begins
Chocolate reindeer,fruit and nuts,
Tins of biscuits,feeling stuffed!
May there be snow,a pure snow,
A crunchy pure white snow with a hand to hold

Mountain tops
A rainbow of dew drops
Watching the sunshine on golden crops

Walking in the rain round the shops
All hurdled together at the bus stop
Returning home to dirty pots!

The missing shoe……

The Tunnel

The Tunnel

It was the start of a tunnel
I had his hand to hold
An unknown deep wet tunnel
Underground,I wondered if we would find gold

I wasn’t looking for the holy grail
Or the book of life or death
Maybe I would find some carvings
And a glowing light ahead

There was a mystery of bones and pottery
You could almost smell the activity
Ghosts of prisoners in secret cells
Ghosts of priests in sanctuary ringing church bells

I wondered if there was a tunnel
From England to all over the world
First,I would go to Paris
Smell the wine and cheese from below

Dreams of fresh bread,crossiants,yogart
Sitting in the park
Visiting galleries of modern and classical art

I would go to Rome
The smell of pizza and gelato
Bigger and better than home
I would find a secret opening
In the Vatican City
Walk around and pray, the air so soft
The angels so pretty

Could there be a tunnel to Australia?
Could there be a shuttle to the land of sunny air?
The smell of barbecues and burning wood
Bouncing kangaroos,collecting kindling like
Red riding hood

Maybe we could go the beach
Do some surfing and caving in all heats
Go to a zoo and see koala bears
Take photographs of travellers from all over

We could go to Tasmania
See a Tasmanian devil,a possum,a bird
Go walking on Wellington Mountain
Look at the stars and do some counting

Where would we go next?
Back through the tunnel to Hong Kong
See beautiful buildings and live like we are young
Eat sweet and sour and look on markets
For satin and yarn

We would find a black hole
And find the world of the blue sunset
Sit there and watch, the stars like purple dots
Fields of pink that make your whole body sink
Martians with really white teeth
Smiling at you,how lovely,how sweet!!!

My faith is tested

My faith is tested
‘Voices cry in the trees’-Elizabeth Coatsworth

You are my lobster
I am your mermaid

Dreaming of a travelling offer
Where the wind is softer

The words I choose
To share my news

Baby pool
Baby lily pool

Seduce me with a massage
Kiss me on the neck
Take me down the passageway
Swear you will protect

The possibility
And the source of imagery

‘A gentle relationship,
Kissing and holding hands and
Sleeping side by side’-Lavinia Greenlaw

I crave music
The house has a constant beat

Stars orbiting around you

Feminine is a poem,
Differently

The greatest act of love
Is making a tape for someone

Discovering and connecting
I miss electricity

Raincoat pocket
I find a family locket

Are they watching?
Should I be locking my hair?
Are they dreams, dark forces or reality?

To lay in your arms and listen to music

‘I thought of my panick attacks which were also
Electrical,a long moment of shock’-Lavinia Greenlaw

‘And the wave sings because it is moving’-Philip Larkin

Does the sky know you and I?
Are we sat on a shooting star
And ready to fly?
A piano lullaby

Suddenly the lights turned pink

Your amazing way
We take off to a sunny day

I dreamed we were on a beach
Unpacking sandwiches and quiche!!

Bay bliss
A bay kiss
Sweet love bay
It’s a warm and shiny day

I want to draw a stream
Watch your face beam
Invite you to dream

Everywhere you go
There will be a great great glow

Winter

When its raining and running down the window
And the soul is just warm
Your reading a book on your kindle
While outside there is a storm

I picture a lighthouse
And it’s ray on the sea
Is it searching for you and me?

When you fall in love
Like an open dove
And he keeps you warm
Like a hat on a mug
And lights up everything good
Stars of knowth

Goddess tone

Trusting a meal
Out of my tortoiuse shell

It was Floods,not laughter

Beach velvet under my feet

The sweet hit of love
It feels like fate is smiling

You are the lily of the valley

It’s the new year
And I want to shed a tear
Will the heavens hear?
Will the winds help steer?

Waking up on New Years Day
Gonna find out if love will find a way
Your everything I care about,so say
Save me from the slay

Kiss me
Kiss me at the door
Kiss me on a pillow
Kiss me on the park, the beach
Kiss me under the rainbow
Kiss me under the stars
Kiss me by the fire
Kiss me by a sunset dream
Kiss me on a carousel
Kiss me on the dance floor
Kiss me at the back of the movies
Kiss me on the settee watching jelly
Kiss me on a picnic blanket

Just a little note
You are my little oat
You keep me going all daylong
You make me smile and feel so warm

I heard a bird sing

Sunlight is the spread of heaven

The brook that flowed
I dipped my tiptoes

The velvet curtains on my cheek
The grass like summer velvet, velvet in the air

It’s a love story
You look adoringly
Do not go home with her
Please come home with me

Body of a gymnast?I was always picked last

Viking road
I looked for the language of a friend

Words of love
Coming down my street
Colours of love
When will we meet?

To sing,slim,stand up stage

A sweet love bay
It’s a warm and shiny day
On stage

Blossoms,I want to feel winged

Christmas alone
The birds have flown
To warmer weather
But when I see a robin
I see us being together

You are a nativity star
You are a manger
Taking care of Jesus
A very special star

When my eyes close
You take off my clothes
The candle glows
My heart is paused

Keep me warm in the night
Kiss me in glowing light
