Gates at the end of the driveway
There locked so I shout to the street
At 3 I need my freedom
There are neighbours I need to greet!
When I lived on Downham Road
I used to play on the drive
I would throw my football over the gate
And ask the boys to connive!
I remember feeling like a princess
Wearing princess high-heel shoes
I'd use them to climb a dining room chair
To reach the cupboard for chews!

At three years old
He asked me to be his helper
The walls were tall
I knew I'd fall
So I passed up the paper
